INCOMING STUDENTS

This programme is based on bilateral agreements between LIUC and universities inside and outside Europe for student mobility and to obtain at the end of the path 2 diplomas (the one of the country of origin and the LIUC one). In order to take part to this programme and carry out a double degree programme at LIUC you have to be a student of one of our Partner Universities in this programme.
According to the home university of the student this programme is open to Bachelor and Master students, please check on the link and with your university if you are entitled for this programme.

Programme structure

According to the home university of the student, he/she is obliged to spend one semester or one academic year at LIUC following a specific study plan. Write the final thesis, discuss it in LIUC and obtain therefore also the Bachelor (180 ECTS/credits) or Master of Science (120 ECTS/credits) degree in LIUC beside the diploma they will obtain with their home university.
All courses will be taught in English but if the student has the proof of the good knowledge of Italian language different arrangements can be made.

Language requirements

A B2/C1 level of English is required to the students participating to this programme.

Fees

Students are expecting to pay a small fee or 242 euro at the end of the programme for state duties to be allowed to discuss/present the final thesis and therefore obtain the degree.

Credit transfer

You will be awarded credits for each course successfully completed and provided with a transcript detailing your results. And once the degree will be awarded students will receive the so called “degree parchment” and a final transcript of records stating also they obtained the degree and the final mark.

Application

Once you have been selected by your home Institution you will have to complete an Application Form to be sent by the deadlines indicated below (with the required documents).
These information and forms are sent to the students by the International Office in LIUC once they have received the nominations from your home University.

Acceptance and Registration

After receiving the completed application form, the International Office at LIUC will confirm your acceptance as a Double degree student and will send you further information on accommodation, courses and registration. Please ensure that these forms are sent by the deadlines indicated below.

Visa requirements

All students coming from outside the European Union are required to apply for a student visa to enter Italy. Please ensure you start procedures early as requirements are often subject to changes. We advise you to contact the Italian Consular Authorities for further information.

Visa Requirements

Non European Union Citizens
You are required to apply for a student visa prior to leaving your home country. Applications should be made at your nearest Italian Embassy or Consulate. When you apply, be prepared to submit the following documents in their original form (no photocopies are accepted):

  • valid passport
  • letter of acceptance at LIUC
  • proof of sufficient funds to support your stay in Italy, either through a scholarship or bank documentation.
  • private health insurance

NOTE: We advise you to contact the Italian Consular Authorities for further information as requirements are often subject to changes. This process can take one month or more, so please ensure you start procedures early.

European Union Citizens
EU citizens are not required to obtain a visa unless they intend to stay more than 90 consecutive days in Italy.

Residence Permit

Non European Union Citizens
You will be informed upon arrival (during the Orientation week) about the procedures to be followed. All procedures will be done through the post office in Castellanza. To carry out these procedures you will be helped by the International Office during the Orientation Week.

Students applying for a “Permesso di soggiorno” should prepare the following documents for the Italian authorities:

  1. photocopy of student visa appearing on your passport
  2. 4 passport size photographs (scanned photos are not accepted)
  3. valid passport and two copies of all its pages
  4. “Marca da bollo” (Italian stamp duty) € 16,00 (to be bought in Italy)
  5. 1 copy of the declaration of admission to the University (provided by LIUC)
  6. bank statement or grant document with amount expressed in Euro that proves you can support yourself during your study period in Italy (documents accepted are: letter from your parents that they support you financially, a letter from you bank stating that you can support yourself financially) Please make sure you have this letter before leaving for Italy
  7. valid health insurance with clear coverage explanations if possible in English (period and country of validity).
  8. 1 copy of housing contract

Please ensure you have original documents as photocopies will not be accepted. This is an additional cost for students as they will have to pay in total around € 200,00

Health Insurance

Non EU citizens are required to have some form of private insurance with a consular declaration of validity for Italy.

Coming from an EU country you can use the Italian health service by presenting the European Insurance card, issued by the health insurance authorities of your country.
In any case, it is strongly suggested to have also a personal private health insurance.
