This workshop is based on the idea that, in the absence of effective tools for detecting AI use, the validity of the scholarly work produced by students and faculty depends on mutual trust in the ethical use of GenAI. Mutual trust among students, researchers, and professors is crucial, especially given the lack of effective oversight over the outcomes of academic activities.
This is a profoundly human dimension that transcends the capabilities of machines and remains indispensable. Mutual recognition of academic work is, in fact, essential for the survival of the very idea of the university, which today faces a challenge concerning its role as a mediator in the transmission of knowledge across generations.
In this context, generative tools, which are faster, more cost-effective, and compliant, can replace the traditional academic faculty, regardless of the contribution of originality and critical thinking that university professors are able to offer.
