Increasing propensity to internationalise among firms, market globalisation and changes in management of production processes within sectors require new professional figures able to work within such processes as they evolve and to contribute to their effective management.

The MASTER in INTERNATIONAL MANGEMENT wishes to meet such by training young graduates with the necessary professional competencies, able to deal with the international aspects of commercial, administrative and financial management; to keep contacts with their counterparts in other Italian and foreign firms; to negotiate contracts ; to contribute to business strategy in international markets and to the effective external communication of company policies; to manage relations with the Public Sector and with European Union Institutions.

The Master is organized by the Libero Istituto Universitario " Carlo Cattaneo " (VA), financed by the European Social Fund and included within the plan of postgraduate training activities approved by Region Lombardia. Only twenty graduates are admitted to the Master, after passing a written and oral selection.

The study programme – full time – covers a total of 520 hours of teaching activity (lessons, seminars, tutorials ) for four months and ends with a three-month internship.

Moreover the Master provides a course of advanced English to enable the graduates to use economic and legal terminology for their future employment. They will given the opportunity to take the Cambridge University examination BEC – Business English Certificate – since LIUC is a Cambridge exam centre.

This Master offers some novel features when compared to similar existing initiatives of post-degree training. It emphasises co-operation with entrepreneurial world, also thanks to the strong links between UNIVA ( Industrial Association of the Province of Varese ) and Libero Istituto Universitario " Carlo Cattaneo ". All participants will receive training been at the end of the period of the first part of the Course.

The course consists of 1000 hours of teaching over 7 months of full time activity - 520 hours of lessons and tutorials as well as 480 hours of company training.

The coherence of the subjects taught will be ensured by the co-ordinators of the areas (political economy, business administration, law). The Master is divided into 9 sections - organized over 4 months- that deal with topics such as: company management, the liberalization of the international trade of goods and services, the internationalization of business [etc].

The Master is open to 15 graduates aged up to 27 from differente university disciplines.

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the qualifications, which will be followed by an admission test in order to verify their aptitude to the course of study. The Master is completely free of charge and includes the distribution of material, the use of the university cafeteria, a limited reimbursement of travel expenses and insurance.

On successful completion of the course (marks obtained during the course of the studies and the placement report, students will be provided with a post-degree diploma of specialisation awarded by the Lombardy Region and a certificate from the university.
