Course in Management for the textile and clothing industry
Nowadays, market unforeseeability and increasing competitive pressure require firms to be capable of adapting to different contests and making an ongoing effort towards a reduction of costs and an improvement of quality of products offered and services provided.
For those firms belonging to the textile and clothing industry, these objectives must be achieved within a scenario that, in comparison to other sectors, is made more difficult by the following factors: continually changing products due to fashion, the fight against time in order to fulfil delivery orders, the scarce organisational frameworks and extremely decentralised production.
Within this contest, the course aims to promote for textile and clothing firms the knowledge of concepts, systems and tools for managing the textile business, with a specific focus on those aspects useful for:
The course is addressed to those firms operating within the textile and clothing industry and in particular to those who have organisational and managerial responsibilities such as:
Even if within firms different managers are in charge of these processes, the knowledge of the whole set of problems and their solutions is important to operate with an inter-functional point of view, to assure the validity of one’s behaviour outside the specific business area and to stimulate the improvement the whole firm.
The course is an important chance to increase managerial competencies and compare ideas and operational approaches with others colleagues and experts. The course helps to increase capabilities for identifying and managing projects focused on cost reduction and service improvement.
The course has been specifically designed for the textile and clothing sector, and deals with matters of management common to different processes that characterise this industry, such as spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, manufacturing. The participation of firms that are different for product, type and process verticalisation, means different topics are examined from a different perspective that goes behind the specific business borders, with a view to more integration between customer and supplier.
Teaching methods represent the most important element in order to motivate participants to study. During the course several case studies are analysed, with a particular focus on the textile and clothing industry.
The course is divided in two cycles whose main contents are the following:
1st CYCLE
Controlling and managing production costs
2nd CYCLE
